Damn, that was fast.

I suppose that 18 months of heavy use is a decent run for the MagSafe adaptor that came with my MacBook. Unfortunately, however, I had to get a new adaptor because the cable leading from the power converter to the plug that attaches to the MacBook was starting to fray. Duct tape just wasn't good enough.

I'm surprised, however, at how quickly I got my new adaptor. I ordered it last night, it was shipped that night, and FedEx just delivered it today. I have to admit that I'm pleased; Apple tends to ship my orders quickly. The last part I ordered, a mini-DVI to VGA adapter, was supposed to ship in one to three weeks (according to Apple's website). I got it in three days.

Now that's what I call service.

Plans for Chapter 32 of Starbreaker and beyond...

I didn't have time on Saturday or Sunday to summarize Chapter 31 of Starbreaker. I'm doing it today, and discussing plans for Chapter 32 and beyond... Read More...

Nothing important, just life.

Again, it's been a while. Little of importance to me has happened, as August has been hot and I like to take things slowly when it's hot. Read More...

Apple, TotalFark, bad jokes, and Starbreaker

After a bit of writing and rewriting, chapter 29 of Starbreaker is done. I'll include a summary, when I'm done holding forth on other matters that are likely to matter only to me. Read More...

Initial impressions of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3

I finally got my copy of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 yesterday. I played it for a few hours yesterday, and wrote a review on Amazon.com based on my initial impressions. Read More...

Replying to Morgan Freeburg

On TotalFark, I saw another TotalFark user link to his blog and attempt to claim that without belief in God, one cannot make a moral judgment. I think he's full of shit. Read more if you care to. Read More...

Chapter 17 of Starbreaker

So much for being on a roll. It took me three days (I tend to slack off on weekends) and a rewrite to get Chapter 17 right. Read More...

Adventures in Home Networking

I probably should have opted to put a bigger hard drive into my MacBook, but at the time I figured that 60GB was plenty. And it probably is, but an 19GB music collection doesn't leave one with much wiggle room. Read More...

Haven't We Been Through This Before?

In the 60s, uptight American Protestants were wary of voting for John F. Kennedy, because they feared that he would be taking orders from Rome. These days, uptight American Protestants are paranoid about Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney; they fear that he'll be taking orders from Salt Lake City. It's all bullshit. Read More...

Penis Enlargement Spam

I don't understand these fucking spammers. They must be thinking that they're bound to find at least one sucker who thinks that there's a pill that one can buy on the net that'll make their cocks bigger -- or their lovers' cocks, since my wife gets as much of this spam as I do. None of this shit works, and let's be honest here: if you're ignorant enough or stupid enough to fall for this spam, then a foot-long cock as thick as my forearm isn't going to help you please the ladies.

"Johnny B. Goode" by Judas Priest

Judas Priest is one of those bands I listen to while wearing headphones. It's not one of my wife's favorite bands, so I don't play their music often. I was playing their Ram it Down album tonight while working on the new site. "Johnny B. Goode" is an old Chuck Berry song, and the original was pretty good. The Judas Priest cover is even better. You can probably find it on iTunes.

Looks like I'll be buying RapidWeaver

I'm a lazy bastard who hand-coded a site and then never lifted a finger to maintain it. I tried iWeb and it isn't good enough for me, so I looked for something better. Click the link if you give a damn. Read More...
